story takes place at Shiloh during the Passover Feast. Children
start the game searching for Hannah’s Passover tent.
Once there, they watch a cinema of 1 Samuel 1:9. Hannah
leaves the Passover meal, deeply troubled, to go to the
doorpost of the tabernacle to pray.
Children must then search for Hannah at the tabernacle.
Upon finding her, they watch a cinema of 1 Samuel 1:9-11, 17-18.
Kids hear Hannah praying, “O LORD of hosts,
if only you will look on the misery of your servant,
and remember me, and not forget your servant,
but will give to your servant a male child,
then I will set him before you as a nazarite until the day of his death.
Eli, the priest sitting nearby, listens to Hannah as she prays for a son.
When she has finished, Eli says to her,
Go in peace; the God of Israel grant the petition you have made to him.
Hannah returns to her tent, no longer sad.
After the Bible story, children are told that Hannah is
going to have a baby and are instructed to collect five
baby gifts. The children search throughout Shiloh to find
people who have gifts in their tents for Hannah’s baby.
Children collect a basket, a gown, booties, a blanket, and
a rattle. As each gift is found, Zack or Mary Martha say
simple, short prayers for Hannah’s baby. For example,
after finding the first gift, they pray, “God, please
help Hannah’s baby to be happy.” These prayers
reinforce the memory verse for the week: “Pray constantly.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 .
After finding all five gifts, children must return to Hannah’s
tent and place the gifts in her chest. Upon completion of
this task, kids enter into the Bonus Round where they can
collect many tokens on the tops of tents and around the
tabernacle before finding the cross to end the game.
Kids have the opportunity to help a man in Shiloh repair
his broken wagon. Children must find both of the wheels
in order to complete the repair. Bonus points are awarded
for completing this task.
